Brrrrrrrr
It's cold.
It's raining.
It's windy.
It's windy and raining and cold.
What the hell am I doing awake?
It's raining.
It's windy.
It's windy and raining and cold.
What the hell am I doing awake?
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHUCK!
Woo!
Today is my father's birthday and I want to wish him a happy one. My only regret is that I'm not there to spend it with him.
Happy birthday, Dad. I love you.

The Making of a Blog, a la BoRCom
I've been asked exactly what does "making a blog" entail so I said I would post it here. From start to finish, the making of a blog:
1. Add to blogrolling list. If blog is from Time of Darkness, Waterdeep or one of the people who requested a blogroll then the new blog is also added to the appropriate blogroll.
2. Create email account for new blogger. In the domain CPanel.
3. Create directory for blog in domain, create sub-directory for archives.
4. Make blog list graphics (name & author) for Grand List.
5. Add images and links to corresponding letter page, upload.
6. Create new blog inside MT.
7. Configure new blog inside MT, add test entry for blogrolling.
8. Add author and author permissions.
9. Add new blog link to Grimoire and main index page. As with step 1, if it's one of the designated games then link is also added to corresponding blog.
10. Make sure everything is as it should be.
11. Send blog email and email email to user.
And there it is from start to end. A blog is born.

Get Off Thine Arse, Muse
It is 10:52 in the morning.
I have been sitting here since the gotard left at 9:25 in the morning.
I have six blogs to make I've been stalling.
I am remiss in my blog making.
Forgive me Father, for I have sinned.

I Wanted to be This Man

I've gotten hooked hard once again on the West Wing. They keep teasing me with mention of Alan Alda. For me this is no small thing.
We all have people we've aspired to be like, call them role models, examples or what have you. I've never really gotten into celebrity worship and I positively loathe gossip shows on TV but there was one fictional character I discovered at a young and impressionable age and it because my mission in life to resemble this character as much as possible.
This would of course be Hawkeye Pierce.
I don't know exactly what it was that got me started, the whole M*A*S*H* ensemble was amazing but Hawkeye was exactly who I wanted to be. Alan Alda played him with deadpan wit, a dry sense of humour, compassion and intelligence.
I studied him every chance I had, facial expressions and his delivery. I stole my dad's red velour bathrobe to take to camp with me and I wore that bathrobe like a duster to every meal and bit of free time. My best bud through many summers of camp was also named BJ (for Bonnie June) so that only helped enhance my obsession. I kept that bathrobe like a treasure until the fire destroyed it in 97 and broke my damn heart.
I think my finest moment was during an episode of MASH a friend of mine who did not know about my obsession with Hawkeye actually said to me "you remind me of Hawkeye with the way you joke."
I know Hawkeye was a fictional character and there are others whom I have tried to take a bit of and incorporate into who I am, Nietzsche and Ayn Rand to name two, but humour is real important and most of mine comes from Hawkeye.
So let us hope that the West Wing stops teasing me and he doesn't come on and end up with Alzheimer's like he did on ER, damn near crushing me.
Man, I wish I still had that bathrobe.

<-- Steal me!
