Blockbuster Home Delivery

As if I don't have enough movies to choose from, I go and sign up with Blockbuster's home delivery service. It's cheaper than Netflix and friendlier so I said what the hell.

STILL can't get a damn copy of the Passion of the Christ but it's top on my queue so it has to come sooner or later. Come on, folks. Get off the Jesus mania and let those of us who have yet to see the flick have a chance!

Today in the mail (they're quick) I got Haunted Mansion and the unrated Soul Plane. Rather light by my standards but Soul Plane looked funny, I love those 'black humour' movies like Barbershop and stuff. Haunted Mansion looked cute and I do like Eddie Murphy in these movies.

Tomorrow I should get an unrated Taking Lives which I eagerly await. Angeline Jolie is one of the few actresses I genuinely enjoy watching and it's got a serial killer so I'm there already.

As for the rest of my queue, it stands as follows:

Passion of The Christ [WS] R Short Wait
Angels in America - Disc 1 NR Coming Soon
Angels in America - Disc 2 NR Coming Soon
Home on the Range [WS] PG Coming Soon
Mean Girls [WS] PG13 Coming Soon
The Alamo [P&S] PG13 Coming Soon
The Day After Tomorrow [WS] PG13 Coming Soon
Fahrenheit 9/11 R Coming Soon
Van Helsing [WS] PG13 Coming Soon

It's going to be a very movie oriented Fall. Cold weather, warm grog and good flicks.

STILL Going..

Yes yes yes.

On page 324, I am still plodding through the 9/11 Report. Last night I discovered A&E did a two hour documentary on the Report so it was like watching the Cliff Notes. Most useful, Captain.

As it is, I had to take a break. Before I got the 9/11 Report I had started a 500+ monster by Nelson DeMille. I loved The General's Daughter, I thought it was one of Travolta's best. I didn't even know he wrote a sequel to it, my dad gave it to me when I was up there. It's cool, I picture Travolta in the book and I really like the Paul Brenner character. I also like that it's 576 pages, I love a long complicated read.

A long complicated fiction read, a long complicated Commission Report is a whole other story!

I'm somewhere around 400 in Up Country then I've got a Connelly to get into but Connelly will get his own mention here sooner or later with Harlan Ellison, Umberto Eco, TS Eliot and the ever favourite, Andrew Vachss.

I'd like to finish the 9/11 Report on 9/11. Just seems right.

Take That, Rewind it Back…

I don't care if my rock roots are in shock, Usher is just too damn cool. Yeah Yeah is not a new song but it still amuses me, gets me swinging to the groove and there's something about Li'l John and Luda (LUDA!) that just works. This song is just good stuff.

Usher's been touched, he's going to be around for a while.

Residual

This is always a rough time of year for empaths. Empaths who also live close to NY city are double zapped. Now I don't make any claims to be Deanna Troi or anything but as a classic Pisces I do have a hint of empath. And I feel it.

The other night Gotard went outside to feed Bay. It was the 4th, Frances was looming and people were twitching. He walked in and said "it's weird out there." Even he felt it and he is not an empath. Sociopath perhaps but that's for a different blog.

I have no idea what happens when we die. I have no firm set of beliefs on the afterlife of lack thereof. I just personally think that sometimes souls don't go 'to rest' or to any sort of Heaven or Hell. They say those who die suddenly of out of the blue reasons tend to 'wander.' This makes sense to me.

Every year around this time the air gets weird. There's this energy in the air that rages, it always hits me like a ton of bricks to the head. And now this year there's record hurricanes in Florida and when is Ivan supposed to hit? Yes, the 11th. I tend not to believe in coincidence so I'm looking at these storms in a spiritual way.

Three years have come and gone and you have to wonder what as a nation we've gotten since then. This Presidential race is becoming not about the issues and all about past military records (or the lack thereof), people are dying in Iraq and Russia, homeland security is the new big brother, etc. No wonder the winds are blowing so hard, the souls are angry.

Of course I know none of this for fact, I only know what I feel and what I feel is stronger this year than last year. I hate this week, the next few days are going to be emotionally intense and Saturday night we're going down to the river to look at the tower lights they're turning on. I can only imagine what I'll be feeling.

And the winds blow on...

Stupid Commercial

I just want to go on record saying I do not need Summer's Eve products to feel 'fresh and clean' and 'enjoy being a woman.' I can enjoy being a woman who feels fresh and clean just fine without Summer's Eve products.

Dumbass commercials.

That is all.
