A Quick Thanks

Before I go back to what I was doing I was just inspired to come back in here and post this.

I want to say thank you.

I want to say thank you to the people who read this rag and take the time to stop and leave a comment. It means a lot to me and I don't say thanks often enough.

I know blogging here isn't for other people but when you pour your heart and soul into a post and no one bothers to comment it does sting a tiny bit. I guess that makes me neurotic. No shit. I see comments and I know that something I wrote (which translates to my thoughts, my head) was interesting enough to a stranger that they stopped and took a minute out of their own day to say something to me. This means more to me than I let on. I'd rather have 5 steady readers who comment than 2000 who don't. I try and comment often on the blogs I read regularly and I just wish more people did the same. I also wish I had a pony and a couple million dollars.

So thank you to the commenters, you really do matter. I admit this. If it makes me look needy or weak well then here's a revelation for you - I am occasionally needy and weak. Surprise! A simple thing like a comment really can make a person's day.

Now excuse me, I left someone sitting in the living room wondering why I got up mid-sentence to post something on the computer.

   I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks that way.

   I guess I could leave a coomet everytime, but I wouldn’t want to be one of those ‘Me Too’ Commenters.

   So I’ll lurk until I have something to say, then you’ll hear from me again.

11. I hear you.  I recently did an entry on my blog where I asked everyone to comment that visited, if they were a regular.  That entry, I got over 75 unique comments, If I remember correctly.  Many times, people read, but don’t comment.

    Sometimes, I visit a blog or a website, and what is written there touches me deeply, and I don’t make a comment.  I try to remember that when I write something that means a lot to me and I don’t get the comments I want.

    Regardless, I’m fairly new to your blog, but I think you know that I think it’s cool.  And your radio show is cool as well.  You seem like a cool person.  (There, I’ve said “cool” three times now.)

    By the way, is your “notify me of followup comments” working?  It didn’t the other day for me for a post of yours I commented on.

    i personally don’t care if i (ever) receive comments, i forget that
    other people enjoy them.  i’m so freakin’ pleased to have “met” you!--
    you are always interesting and a pleasure to read (as well as being an
    honest-to-goodness good person).

18. I lurk by here once in a while.  I don’t have time to visit and comment every blog I would like but today, well you opened the door.

    The kindness or meanness of others can really make a difference.  I think we forget sometimes there is a real human behind the word we blog.

    I have no idea why I blog...but I continue to do it.
