Blogathon 2007 - No Way It’s Been a Year Already
Holy crap, where did the past 12 months go? Did anyone see the past 12 months go by, I think I lost them..
It's almost time for Blothathon 2007 and there is much to work out.
One thing I know for sure is the Jolts are out this year. This year's magic secret for staying awake lies in four words:
Full Throttle Thrust Slurpee
We have a 7-11 10 minutes from here and Darkstar will be taking the Saturday off this year so one of us can hit 7-11 every 4 hours for a 40 ounce Full Throttle Thrust Slurpee.
Glad we got that solved.
I'll come up with some other "Guess the ..." contest to give the $50 donation prize to since the Jolts are out. Apparently Full Throttle Thrust is a Coke product so if I can find it by the 24 pack I'll make my own slushee things, there's a slushee maker thing somewhere in this house.
I haven't picked a charity yet, I've got a few in mind but nothing I've settled on yet.
This year I'm keeping this place low-key, I'll be busy with the station blog and the whole group madness thing so for this place I'm just going to keep it low-key and try and raise $1500 for whatever charity I pick. $1500 is a reasonable goal.
It will have something to do with animals, that much I know.
The station needs to pick a charity as well. I'm leaning towards something for soldiers. The conditions at Walter Reed still bother me, we should be doing everything we can for these men and women but we don't. We didn't learn from the past and we don't take care of our own when they come home physically altered from how they left. It's something I feel strongly about so I'm hoping we go that way but who knows.
The 'thonners luck out this year. I can think of 5 internet radio stations who are planning to be active in the 'thon and have stuff going the whole time. There should be something for everyone and enough to keep people awake with no problems.
Blogathon 2005 was fantastic, I had more fun that night than I've had online ever. Blogathon 2006 wasn't a good experience for me. Blogathon 2007 is already looking to be fun. We were talking about having General Drucifer, Mr. & Mrs. Hecubus and the Bear over to all go on the air together - that would be amusing.
It's still early but it's time to start thinking about all this stuff.

The ASPCA… Ther are a number of Cat-related charities that frequently
send me requests as well.. Ally Cat Allies in particular is a non-profit
that works with Feral Kitties and sponsor Trap/neuter/return programs.
I have often wanted to send them a donation, but right now that is not
possible for me.. google them. or The Little Shelter on Long Island.
North Shore and Little Shelter are both “no-kill” facilies and we are
in the beggining of “Kitten Season” where the shelters are overflowing

I love those Full-Throttle Slurpees! If I drink too much, I get a little twitchy, yet… I keep drinking too much.

I am having a few friends over who are also ‘thonning. You should get people to yell, Go Team Go every few hours. That’s what I’ll be doing.
Blogathon 2006 was sorta shitty. Too many people were only out for themselves. Damn humans.
