He Shoots!  He Scores!

I've been a hockey fan a long time. Okay, not like you Kel, but I'm a fan. When I was young it was the Islanders, my father and I would watch Islander games for for whatever reason, I thought the name Dennis Potvin was just too darn funny.

Then in the 80s it was all about the Montreal Canadiens. My ex was a huge MC fan and he got me into them hardcore. My very first jersey was a Guy Carbonneau 21 with the C on it, it was my pride and joy. They had the dream team with Captain Guy, Patrick Roy in goal, Claude Lemieux and Stephan Richer, too many amazing players to list.

I was a player follower, once they started trading people off it got hard for me. Carbonneau here, Lemieux there, Roy there, broke my heart. I've been a Devils fan, an Avalanche fan, a Dallas Stars fan.

Claude Lemieux is by far my favourite. He was the sort of player everyone hated until he got on their team. I was so taken with his craggy looks and attitude I named my cat after him (if the cat had claws he'd be 'Clawed' and Lemieux sounds like LeMew. Yes, I'm posting all this JUST to inflict the Clawed LeMew on new people!).

I'm looking forward to hockey once again, I was all set to get my season pass on Dish when they pulled the season and I missed it.

And as a New Yorker, I just want to say... ANYONE BUT THE RANGERS! I can't stand the Rangers and I don't get along well with Ranger fans, they're volatile.

Yes, hockey is right up there with golf. Goooood juju!

3. Along with college football, and tennis, hockey is the only thing I would bother to go watch in person (not counting Olympics).  Bluejackets here have been rather plagued since that poor girl got killed by the puck.  Nets up all over the place now over the shields.
