Holiwho?
Happy Labour Day, people.
It's not really a happy one though, is it? I can't make myself change any of the news channels and tomorrow might be the first Labour Day I can remember that I skip a Law & Order marathon but I can't change the channel. Starting to emerge now are the stories of human strength and human kindness and although the tears still flow, they are mixed now and then with tears of goodness. The state of Texas has truly amazed me in its capacity to mobilise so quickly and care so completely. I can't say enough, one of these days I'll get to sit down and actually warble on my feelings about all of this.
Unfortunately, outside of doing what I can financially to help out, there isn't much I can do. As much as I'd like to put the world on hold until things improve a little bit I can't.
My parents wedding anniversary is Friday, 45 years. It's a rare thing in this day and age and they are every bit as in love as that day 45 years ago. For over a year now I've been talking about putting their site together. I sat on it and sat on it until oh .... yesterday. Yesterday I once again enlisted the help of Kelly and Matt and finally got to it. What did I have? Nothing. An idea. Luckily for me I am blessed with quick-acting friends.
Yesterday I realised it was Saturday and I had no idea what if anything I was doing for the radio show this week. I considered telling Mango I couldn't do it this week. Too much crap in the word to pretend to be chipper and too much I need to do. Plus I had just spent the past week lost in the warbles.
But there is Jerry Lewis and he looks amazing. I love Jerry Lewis deeply, last year it hurt me to watch him. He looked like he had both legs and his torso in the grave and this year he looks fantastic. Keep it up, Jerry. The world is a much much better place with you in it.
It is now 2:07 AM Monday morning. I sat down at the computer at 11 AM Sunday morning. Since then I have:
**upgraded the site to MT 3.2 without blowing it up
**sent hysterical email to the Seal about breaking the database (which did not happen)
**edit main page of site
**fill in contact page
**fill in shipping/payment page
**made base templates for about, browse by, full list
**made base templates for 18 categories
**decide what music styles to do this week
**pick songs out of my head for this week
**download 16 songs, multiple of most to compare quality
**figure out song order
**mix songs in blocks on SF
It's still not over. Before I can retire to the other room tonight I'd like to get a post up on Mango Radio with links and my dollar a comment thing. I'm going to donate a dollar for every comment received on that post so please, if you're reading this - go there and leave a comment in a bit.
I should also diddle the templates some more but maybe I'll save that for tomorrow.
Oh. And my ovaries are attacking so there is pain. Much much pain.
Give me my bong. Now.

Oh, that’s not even fair that the ovaries are choosing now to attack. Evil! That’s a heck of a lot that you’ve gotten accomplished this weekend despite it.
