Looking In

I'll never be one of you.

I'll never be one of the 'boys club,' I'll never be on an equal playing field.

I serve my purpose and am occasionally useful but that's where it ends.

Sometimes I am reminded of this.

I know it already without the reminders. I'll never be on the inside.

I've always known it.

   There have been some great movies where
   women dress up as men and get an inside look.

3. I don’t know what “Boys Club” you are speaking of, but it doesn’t really matter.

   I think you are smart enough and determined enough to play on any field.

   I’m not sure why, but I’ve never felt comfortable with the Old Boys Network.  I guess I should, being a guy and all, but the attitude taken by many of these types makes me sick.  So I don’t interact however it is that I am supposed to, and then I too am on the outside looking in.

   I’m not sure if this is relevant to you, but I stick by my first statement.

5. The name “boy’s club” conjures up visions of fetid rooms full of smelly cigar smoke and stale farts. You don’t want to be in that club anyways.

   Let’s start our own club. A SECRET club.

6. I know I’m new here; so, don’t want to be too nosy…

   But what boy’s club do you want to be in?  And why?  Maybe it’s THEM that’s not good enough for YOU, not the other way around.

   From the little I’ve heard you on Mango Radio, emailed you, or in reading your blog, you seem like a very fascinating woman.  Someone not afraid to be herself, to say what she thinks—and not afraid to be vulnerable at the same time.

   People don’t easily fascinate me, because most people are mindless drones.  You don’t seem to be like that.

   Look—I’m happily married.  So please don’t take this as a come-on.  But I mean all of the above, and plus, if that’s a picture of you on your blogathon page, you’re beautiful as well.

   You’re a unique person in a world full of copycats, Webkittyn.
