Mulling Through Live Broadcasting and Mulling in General

I don't learn to do things in other people's playgrounds, that makes me nervous. I try to make sure I have my own space to make the usual dumbass mistakes I make so well.

Strange time of year, makes me overly contemplative. There's a lot running around in my head and I've been wanting to push it away by live broadcasting. I listened to Jeckles tonight and hand down there is nothing that beats live. Not that I don't like my shows but live just beats all (John Blaise Gomez, where are you. I could use you now). Nothing beats off the cuff wit and interaction with listeners.

I've had Shoutcast in here for a while now, the imms on the mud used to listen in when I got the bug up my ass to broadcast the songs I was always talking about. I just never messed around with talking, just playing music.

I don't like bothering Mango. Mango's busy enough without my anal-ness and the fact that there is no 'what u hear' anywhere on my computer. I don't like asking questions I should be able to answer myself. Nor do I want my first live attempts to be blindly done on Mango Radio. Good God no. Yug. Run.

Tonight, in an attempt to avoid the crap pecking at my brain, I threw myself completely into figuring it out. Right at my side with patience and answers was the alien, shades of how it always was and how it should be. He spent a lot of time looking shit up for me and working through it with me and keeping me from having multiple hissy fits.

I think we got it working. I seem to be streaming and he says the quality doesn't suck. I can talk and be heard it really seems to be working. Wow. Trippy.

Tomorrow we'll work on sound quality but all systems seem to be a go.

Over the next few days I'll probably be practising a lot, just to see how much I really do suck live and how much of a dumbass I sound like.

Feel free to tune in if you want when it's on, the spiffy kittyn icon will mysteriously appear in the upper left-hand corner to let you know it's working. I have no funky 'now playing' stuff so you'll just have to hit the link and risk it but if you like the show on Wednesday, this is pretty much the same thing but more music that I like since I don't expect people to be listening!

   live this week but I need all the practise I
