Not Again.  No Way, Nuh-Uh

I have a bone to pick with the Gods. What is up with this shit?

The other night Darkstar was petting his cat Bey. If you aren't familiar, Bey was the cat abandoned by the freaks downstairs two years ago. After a year of coaxing, cajoling and bribery a la food, Bey became his cat. Bey lives in his room and comes and goes through a makeshift cat door in the window. Bey has a Hitler nose and some British short hair in him, he's quite the adorable cat.

Nothing unusual in his petting of Bey until he comes out of his room looking pale and announces Bey has lumps on his stomach. I go and look and sure enough, there are three olive-sized lumps on his gut that weren't there the night before (at least not that big).

Bey went to the vet yesterday and there it was - the familiar and gut-tearing diagnosis of 'solid masses.' A needle biopsy was done and now all we can do is wait.

My logical mind says it's not cancer. If the cancer had spread that quickly and that intensely the cat would not be active. He's out and about all day and most of the night, he's lively as ever. His appetite has not gone away, if it was cancer I don't think he'd be eating, he'd be thin. They don't seem to bother him at all.

My emotional mind is still reeling over Claude and can't help but dwell on the bad stuff. The sad and scary and amazingly fucked up stuff. We can't go through this again. It's only been four months and Wednesday is Darkstar's birthday, what the Bloody Hell is this shit about? Not again.

Keep your fingers and paws crossed for us, ok? This is bad shit and the waiting is the worst part.
