Now That Was a Show

I've never laid any claim to being a good broadcaster. When I was involved with WABC it was behind the scenes and I liked it there. I've always referred to myself as a Spock rather than a Kirk. I like working things in the background and making a better end result, it's not necessary for the end result to be about me. My crowning WABC achievement was getting Gomez on the air for the weekend, I was in the background happy and content.

However.

This past show was possibly the best and the most fun I've ever done. Period.

It's funny, I was thinking about not doing the show. I was kvetching about not feeling the vibe to Darkstar on the phone earlier in the day, I don't like doing shows if I don't feel the juju. It's more work than I thought it would be running it all so by the time 9PM rolls around I'm kind of burnt on radio stuff now and then but I said suck it up and did the show.

It's been a long time since we broke 20 both in listeners and chat room visitors. It's never happened where I didn't know a chunk of people in the chat room, people who found the station off of Live365 or MySpace. It's never happened when the indie artist I've been playing comes into the chat room to hang, thank you Gene-Manuel.

Everything flowed. The banter was amusing, the music was kickass and the response was mind-blowing. It was an empowering and rejuvenating night and as Iceprincezz reminded me, it was a testament to how cool the station is becoming and the collective efforts of all the people involved are netting results.

I am really glad I did the show. Let it go down in the Kittyn archives as the spotlight show so far.

Many many thanks to anyone who was either a listener or a chatter. Much love.

Get the Mojo!

  2. Like I told you...My day had sucked. I wanted to kill puppies. I wasn’t even going to come to the show...but I did. I am so glad I could be part of something much more than JUST 20 people in the chat room, and an awesome show it was good mojo, in it’s purest form. I went to bed last night with my stomach hurting, from laughing so damn much. Remember. YOU, my friend, are AWESOME!

    xoxo
