Oh Oh Oh, It’s Magic, You Know.. Never Believe It’s Not So..

Now I'm going to want to hear that song. *mutters*

Sometimes the obvious kicks you in the face and makes you sit back and smile. Not often but when it does it's a beautiful thing.

I've always known we had something special on ToD, it's definitely never been the average MUD in terms of its Immortal staff and the rapport between us.

I've always kept a close place, it's important to me that everyone gets along. You can't force people to like each other but new staff is voted on and welcomed and cooed at. Still, there are just some things you cannot force.

I've been through a lot of Immortals since I took over the MUD, over 20. There have been moments of intense heartbreak and anger and joy and glee and sorrow and despair and pleasure and pain.

The current group of Immortals is the longest-running group to date. There are 7, 6 of them have been with me 4-5 years. There exists between us a genuine sense of affection and loyalty and friendship. I would walk on fire for any one of them and they've all gone way above and beyond any call of duty for the MUD.

These people aren't staff. They aren't strangers who help run the MUD. They aren't internet friends who don't exist past the screen. These are my friends, they are the ones closest to me and the ones I laugh with, share with, cry with and love. Each one of them has brought into my life a bit of themselves and I could easily go a lifetime and never encounter seven such beings in my day to day travels. Each one so different that when together, this sort of karmic chemistry explodes and you have the magic that is the ToD Immortal staff.

Last night I had a bit of a reminder of how special what we've created really is. It humbled me, it made me tear up and it made me love even more this strange and wonderful group of friends I've found.

I am one lucky kitty. Thank you, Time of Darkness.
