People Who Have Touched Me - Continued Tributes

Yah, I know. Enough with the stupid title. But but but...

Time for some more people who have touched, inspired or otherwise impacted my being. Some I name by name, some I name by 'net name. Doesn't mean anything, just means that somewhere along the way these people have made a difference and I don't care what anyone says, sometimes a 'net friendship can be just as lasting and wonderful as a face to face one. Sometimes. With the right people. I've been lucky there.

Matt

Meathe. Senor Seal. My very bestest of friends. You are truly one of a kind and I did something right to find you. Your brain astounds me, your kindness humbles me, your friendship warms me. So much of what I am able to do now I am only able to do because you've been there with the patience of a saint and a sense of humour and the willingness to put up with me. There can be no one else like you, ever.

David

Crayon. Alien. My right hand man and keeper of the manic meter for 8 years. You have absolutely no idea how amazing you are. You gave me a friendship and a sense of trust I haven't shared with anyone else. The void you left in my world was one I didn't even bother trying to fill with some cheap replacement and having you back in my world now makes it a happier place. You have no idea how much you matter to me, even though you have Sonic and I don't.

Dan

Deathsquad. Nisstyre. You probably know me better than anyone and that's okay with me. There is nothing I can't tell you and you've showed me loyalty, affection and honour. I've watched you go from moody kid to this totally awesome man and I can't imagine life without you in it. You've always been there for me, always had my back, always willing to listen. More than anyone, you helped me survive eight weeks in the hospital.

Rod

Navarre. Ravennacht. Zane. We ALL miss you. You're another one who doesn't realise how wonderful you are. Never have I clicked so well on a friendship level with someone and I would trade what's left of my kidneys for you to be back in my world. So much you've overcome in life, your strength and spirit and wit were always things I admired deeply and respected. I miss you, I will find you, Pigeon.

Mango

Hands down the single most intriguing man I've run across on the 'net. You gave me a shot on internet radio and because of you I've got a pretty spiffy station. You introduced me to something new. You were largely respsonsible for me waking up and realising I had been on a multi-month bitch ride that I desperately needed to change. When Claude died, you were the first one there with genuine support and a tribute. My Mango Radio days are still the best I've had in internet radio. Thank you for everything. I'll always be deeply sorry I never got to know you better.

Jeckles

You taught me humility and in a way, loss. You got in my head and made an impact in some of our conversations and I will always regret screwing up the friendship. You reminded me we can't always get what we want, it was a hard lesson I needed to learn even if it came with loss. I still get sad not being able to talk to you and yet I can't drag myself away from SBR or stalking you on Twitter. You are the one friend that got away and I still miss you.

Malfouka

If only you lived on this coast! You have the most beautiful spirit I've ever felt and I have the utmost admiration for the person you are, the things you believe and the brutal honest way you deal with things and life. One of these days I want to sit and share a cocktail, a hug and some conversation with you. I've never enjoyed talking to someone on the phone quite as much as I did you..

Mare

You are goodness personified and the most caring person I have ever run across. Seeing you finally in the right place and happy warms my heart, if there is truly anyone who deserves it you are she. Even when I couldn't see anything good in me you always had something to offer with a smile and I truly love you.

YummY

You are one of the most inspirational people I've run across. You always look to the bright side and find something good, you remind me to do this. You save wild rats and make them comfortable at the end, that alone says so much about the kind and loving person you are. Your blog is where I go when I need to get out of a funk, to be reminded there is beauty and good in the world.

Akira - Al

My lost gamer, it's been almost 10 years since you ended your life and I've never forgotten you. You taught me that it WAS real, the people are real and sometimes the real is real sad. I've tried to be a better person because of you, because although we all saw, none of us got it. You made me care.

More to come!

  1. Thank you for the sweetest thing I’ve heard from a woman I admire so greatly.

As you read this, please do not underestimate the power of your own kindness, compassion, strength, and beauty. You often speak about yourself as if you’re struggling to be better. What you don’t seem to realize is that you’re already phenomenal.

I love you very much, truly and deeply.
