Product Review - Tassimo Beverage System

In a word - wow.
It's not often I extol the virtues of anything yuppie but when something like this comes along even I have to give the yuppies their props. This is one sweet machine.
Ok, first let's cover the size. It's a lot smaller than I thought it would be, it's a tad wider than a standard coffee machine but it's not big at all. And it's pleasant to look at, it looks good ona countertop . It's got buttons and lights and it looks slightly futuristic but not at all gaudy. If you're into impressing the company with a pithy looking machine, this is a good one.
It even has a removable platform for larger mugs. This is perfect for people like me who waste tons of money in the Summer living on iced mocha lattes. This comes to about a buck a latte.
Now onto the good stuff. The discs.
I am completely awed by this machine. For my birthday I was given this glorious machine and quite a few boxes of discs, pretty much everything they make. Every single beverage I have made with the Tassimo has been perfect. Absolutely perfect.
It's the lazy person's dream come true. You keep the water thing full so you don't even have to measure water. You plop the disc in and close the top and before you know it, it's done. It's faster than making hot chocolate in the microwave, this thing is quick.
Get this.. It even comes with the milk/creamer for the lattes and cappuccinos! Huzzah! You do the coffee disc and when that's done you do the creamer disc and there it is.
The taste is out of this world. My personal favourite so far is the Gevalia Cappuccino, it's like coffee heaven. My parents used to go get cappuccinos from this Italian coffee place when I was young (not a trendoid Starbucks, a goombah old world kind of place), this is just as good. Smooth, creamy and thick with foam.
I've tried the cappuccino, latte, espresso (holy moly is this stuff strong), regular coffee, hot chocolate, Earl Grey and English Breakfast Tea. I have yet to find one thing that is less than 100% positive for each and every product. The coffees are strong, hearty, smooth and full of flavour. The teas are smooth and clean tasting and have made me fall in love with tea all over again.
The Tassimo runs at $170, it's not cheap but it's worth every penny. The boxes of discs run from $7.00-$10.00 per box and usually have 18 discs in them. The latte and cappuccino boxes have 10 discs of coffee and 10 of the creamer.
I cannot give this product enough positive feedback. The quality cup of coffee or cappuccino is a gift, to sit back with a good book and a full-flavoured cup of your favourite style of coffee is a luxury. The Tassimo has made this luxury possible for people like me who are lazy, can't afford a $500 machine that only makes one sort of coffee and who would rather die than enter a Starbucks.
The Tassimo is a perfect gift to give that couple about to get married, mom and dad, a person starting out in their first apartment or for yourself, you deserve something fun.

That was an incredible rave review. I know how you feel - after subsisting on Folgers (sp?) instant, the office got something very similar (more like tiny cups than trays), and it is fantastic.
And Starbucks dimply tastes as bad as instant coffee. The amazing thing is that marketing and presence can convince people will pay a premium for it.
