See Ya in Court

I finally got off my ass and contacted three different law firms to see what they had to say. I know people who have won malpractice suits and I know people DO win malpractice suits but it's hard to digest when it's you.

The responses were better than I expected they would be. On all accounts I have a pretty strong case. I'm going to have to actually go to Kingston Hospital to get my records as they're taking too long but other than that it looks good. I know which lawyer I want to go with and it's time to get this thing going.

I'm not looking for insane amounts either. I'm damaged goods for life now because of them and they've pretty much guaranteed I'm going to have a miserable senior citizen life so I'd like to get something for it. I can rent to own a 2-3 bedroom house up here for $1000 a month, I'd like to be able to do that and pay a year up front. I'd like to be able to buy a car out right without having to worry about interest. I'd like to buy my best friend a car. I'd like home dialysis treatment in the future when I need it again from a private nurse paid for by them.

Meanwhile tomorrow I get to take my cab ride with my ginormous jug of pee and get my blood checked again. I can't make the days go fast enough until October 6th when I find out about getting this damn thing out of my chest. I'm a bit worried about this pee test, I puked too much again today. After the test I'll go grab some lunch in the hospital cafeteria and talk to strangers for a bit.

I really need a car, I'm getting way too boring.

  1. I hope you DO get an insane amount of money. The suffering that this has caused you over the course of your illness has hurt you in so many ways, and I don’t even mean the physical. I, further, do not believe that your lawsuit is frivolous. I believe you deserve to be compensated for the horrors you’ve experienced and still haunt you.

When I would talk to you on the phone, some days it was so hard to be cheerful because I knew you were hurting so bad in all ways. They fucked up. They should have, could have, would have, but didn’t. That left you with permanent scars.

I hope the attorney goes after them with both barrels for what you’ve had to endure and what the future will hold for you. I know that the health care system is flawed. I understand they don’t want to treat people who don’t have insurance, or even poor insurance, but for hell’s sakes you nearly died because of them. They should hold responsibility for their lack of concern.

    I love ya wo-man.

  2. I wish you loads of luck, you totally deserve and need the money and they SHOULD be shut down for such egregious ethical practises.

Keep fighting the good fight and KEEP ME POSTED!

  3. I can just see you crusin’ around in a cab and the driver turns and says “Hey lady what’s in the jug?”

And you deadpan “It’s muh gigantic jug-o-pee.”

  4. I hope you win a bundle. I was hoping I’d read about you going to talk to some lawyers about getting something out of all this suffering of yours at someone elses hands.

    Good going!
