Shoo, Fly!
So I had this dream.
In this dream I had baked the most wonderful shoo-fly pie a non Amish person could possibly make. This shoo-fly pie was just the way I love shoo-fly pie and it was fresh out of the oven and just pure food bliss.
I woke up and I swear I went running into the kitchen to get a slice of this glorious shoo-fly pie.
There was no shoo-fly pie. It was a dream. A cruel hoax.
I want my shoo-fly pie.

What exactly is shoo fly pie? I have never had it. What’s in it. Is it good? Is that like a holiday thing, or what?

The shoo-fly plant is an annual that is sometimes grown from seed to add interest to borders. However, as occassional seedlings may appear in the garden (such as from bird-sown seed or seed fallen from a bird feeder), it is sometimes thought of as a weed.
