Slow Down!

I need to slow down, I'm doing exactly what I said I wasn't going to do.

I tore through Into the Wild in three days and I made myself leave the last 30 pages for day three. Then I go and tear through Brother Odd in three days, again with the forcing myself to leave the end.

The goal was to read them slowly, take in every word and go look up and list the words I knew nothing of before reading the book.

I'm going to slow down. I haven't even decided which one to read next but it's not going to be torn through in three days.

I won't post any spoilers but Brother Odd is the best of the three. He's got everything from quantum physics to Elvis frolicking with a dog named Boo and it's nonstop right from the start. He also left it wide open for the next installment of Odd's life. Fans will not walk away unsatisfied with this one.

The decision has been made!

Next up is Broughton Coburn and David Breashears - Everest : Mountain Without Mercy and then Hannibal Rising.

  1. I wanted Brother Odd for Christmas, but haven’t gotten it yet.

If I like I book, there’s no way I can slow down while I’m reading it.  I can tear though novels up to 300 pages in a day (if I’m not at work.)

Then again, I usually read books more than once, so if I missed anything the first time around I pick it up on the rebound.  -grin-

  2. Don’t feel bad, I tore through all three of my new books in about five days and once again I am relegated to nothing to read. If you haven’t read them yet, I suggest Saving Fish from Drowning by Amy Tan and The Life of Pi by Yan Martel. I think they may be your thing. I think.

  4. Spoilers are often fitted to race and high-performance sports cars, although they have become common on passenger vehicles as well. Some spoilers are added to cars primarily for styling purposes and have either little aerodynamic benefit or even make the aerodynamics worse.

  5. Hi,
I have a beetle turbo with a retractable spoiler and a wing spoiler. I heard that having 2 spoilers is unsafe because it lifts the car going over 80mph. Is this true?

  8. Don’t feel bad about that. Take your time in reading, the most important thing is you understand and know what you were reading, time doesn’t matter. In my case, I can read 2-3 books a per week. I only read If I am much interested on that stuff and read it over again if I love it. We have different ways and techniques in reading so you don’t need to be sad about that. texas graphic designers | web development dfw | pacquiao vs bradley

  9. Nice comparison between the three. Brother Odd is also my best choice between the three and I like it very much. I do reading when I have nothing to do and during my break hours in my QA training in Texas.
