Musing on this Week’s Show
I've been doing all my Mango Radio musing at the show's site lately. I also haven't been updating here as much as I'd like to be. Hell, prattle is no problem for me - I can always come up with something to prattle about on the other site.
This week's show was an exercise in anal-retentive madness that has yet to subside. I wanted to come up with a pithy intro for the contest, I really did. Sat down at 11 AM and got to it. 9:30 PM I finally finished it and got up and decided not to use it. It's not a promo, it's almost 7 minutes. What the...
As of right now, the show has some wicked cool clips and mixes, I'm pretty satisfied with it. So far. As satisfied as I'll ever allow myself to be. It's also long. Last week was 2 hours and 42 minutes. This one is 2 hours and 20 minutes so far. I'll keep it less than last week, less babbling about nothing.
My intro, while not good enough to be a contest entry, is just fine for me and the opening song is a grabber.
Last week we hit 19 in the chat room during the show, I'd love to see more. But then I'd love to break 50 listeners, that's the night I do the happy dance naked in the rain with a tulip in my mouth. I won't be the first to hit 50 but I still want to hit 50.
Tomorrow will start the talk clips. I'll do them like last week, no re-edits. Free flow babbling on WebKittyn Wednesday. I'm not even going to think about it (much) before tomorrow. However the mojo flows tomorrow I'll flow with it and have faith that it will result in something at least acceptable.
You would think after 11 shows I wouldn't get that sick feeling in the pit of my gut every Wednesday at 9:30 when I hear the opening notes/words. Ha. The sick feeling comes every week, usually lasts a few seconds until the Do Ya hits and I know all is well. Silly, I know. Ever the malcontented purrfectionist.
One thing I know for certain. The talk clips will not start at 10 PM tomorrow night. Over my dead body.
Mind shutting down, time to stop for now.
