Star-shine Shimmy Shuffle Smile

I'm taking a quick break from cleaning before it overwhelms me and I crap out. This place is still half living room, half bedroom and all mess. Ugh. I refuse to set up the new computer in a haven of filth. Woke up at 6:40 and got the day's puking over with early so I actually feel kind of good.

A friend asked me about the 'star-shine shimmy shuffle smile' stuff so I hopped on the chance to explain and not clean for a bit. Viva la excuses!

It's all about power songs, personal power songs. Music is such a huge part of my life it only makes sense there would be power songs. Sometimes they're not even powerful, just songs.

I'll hear a new song or an old song I forgot about and something in it will click my OCD button and that's it. 10-20 times a day I'll play the same song over and over and use it to either enhance my mood if it's a good one or change the mood if it's a bad one.

Sometimes the songs are uplifting, sometimes they're hard, sometimes they're just silly but sometimes I'm just silly. Whatever the catalyst is, I hop on a song and it usually lasts a few weeks.

Currently it's Sweet, 'Little Willy Willy' I had forgotten the song existed and then they played it on an episode of 'Life on Mars' and that was all it took, instant power song. Something about that star-shine shimmy shuffle smile. Little Kittyn Kittyn won't go home, the kidneys tried but they didn't get me (yet). Kingston Hospital tried to kill me but that didn't work either and they're going to pay for their stupidity.

I don't even try and explain the power songs when they hit, the people who are used to me know the cycles and they deal with me talking about the same song over and over or singing it on music or being a general pain in the ass. These songs make life a little more fun, a little more doable.

Everyone should have power songs.

Now back to my cleaning job. Me and my star-shine shimmy shuffle smile.
