The 13th What?
So I was sitting here bawling my eyes out and worrying when Claude went to the vet. Then the vet called as he always does, usually to tell me all was fine with the anesthesia.
He couldn't find any lump. No lump. Lump not there.
He said he felt what I had felt (gotard showed him) and it was in fact Claude's 13th rib. What the hell is a 13th rib, is my cat some sort of freak? No, he says, all cats have this 13th rib and sometimes it sticks out. Other remote possibilities were a cyst that ruptured or some sort of bruise from going at it so roughly with Templeton but there is 'no tumor.'
He did have some bloody diarrhea but the vet said that could be the stress of the 2 and a half hour ride and such so he gave me some medicine to give him once a day (put it all the way in the back of his mouth, it tastes terrible and the bad taste can make him foam at the mouth - not something I need to see happen) and not to worry as Claude has gained over 6 ounces since November.
If I still insist it's a lump or if it gets bigger or moves, he goes back. But gotard was as emphatic as the vet that what I had felt is exactly what they had felt and it is in fact this mysterious 13th rib which I will now go look up since I didn't even know they had it.
I'm beyond relieved but still a bit shaky.
In other news, Skype confuses the hell out of me.
Much love to the Claude-cat and repeated thanks to all of you who commented. Your support and felt and appreciated.
